Tim Bodt

Tim BodtTim Bodt, better known in Bhutan as ‘Sanggä Dorji’, was born in Arnhem in 1979 and studied Environmental Economics and Social Forestry in Wageningen, where he took his M.Sc. degree in 2002. Whilst still in secondary school, Tim developed a specific interest in Bhutan. In fact, he has been living in Bhutan off and on since 2000. This first began when Tim conducted field research in Bhutan whilst working towards his Environmental Economics degree. Tim has developed a fluency in Tshangla and has over the years in Bhutan assiduously cultivated an interest in linguistics. His knowledge of the language as well as the culture and traditions and his personal relations with the people are a great asset in describing the language.
