Ross Adam Perlin
Ross Adam Perlin, born in 1983, is completing as his doctoral dissertation an extensive grammatical description of Trung, an endangered Tibeto-Burman language spoken by a dwindling community in southwestern China and known to the Hàn Chinese in Mandarin as Dúlóng. Ross studied at Princeton, Tsinghua University, Stanford and Cambridge and completed a double B.A. and an M.Phil. in language-related majors. Subsequently, he obtained an M.A. in Language Documentation and Description from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Ross has an excellent working command of the contact language Mandarin Chinese and finely honed linguistic intuitions.
