René Huysmans

René Baptist Huysmans studied Italian linguistics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), where he graduated in 1993. Since then he has been working on Sampang, a Kiranti language spoken in eastern Nepal. He has conducted four fieldwork trips and is at present completing the Sampang grammar, with morphologically analysed texts and glossary, which will serve as his doctoral dissertation at Leiden.
