Anna Pytlowany

Anna Pytlowany was born in 1976 in Cracow. She studied applied linguistics at Warsaw University, where she took her Master’s degree in 2002. She learnt to read at the age of four and ever since has been studying whatever she can. She has travelled extensively in the Americas, the Himalayas, the Ukraine, Tunisia and Europe. She also produces films, translates novels, writes for Polish parochial magazines in New York and London and has worked at an orphanage in Kathmandu for three months. Anna Pytlowany is preparing a critical edition of this earliest grammar of Sinhalese, including a photographic facsimile edition of the original manuscript.
